Vote No to Amendment 1 in Georgia
Georgia is trying to pass an amendment that will strip a workers ability to work for another employer. The sad thing is that it will actually make the state less competitive and will really limit a persons ability to move from one job to another. Educate yourself on this issue and if you are in Georgia think long and hard about voting yes to this thing.

Six Sigma Versus Alcoholics Anonymous
My day job has been taking me through the joys of six sigma. As we went through the 12 steps of the training I couldn't help but the be reminded of the 12 steps that my mothers clients went through at AA meetings. So for fun I took the list of AA steps and put them next to the 12 steps of six sigma to see how they lined up. The results were amusing to say the least so I thought I would share :).

Getting To Launch
Day jobs can be an interesting thing. If you love what you do then you are lucky, but if you don't then you should keep searching until you find one that you do. For a long time I was happy enough that I didn't want to jump. Then things changed at CNN and I made the jump and thus began a new journey. So I decided to attend the Atlanta startup weekend and lucked into a great group working on a mobile web app called Nexpense. We had a couple of restarts, but I couldn't ask for a better co-founder. But beyond that we are beginning to get traction.
So right now my day job may be boring, but I love my evening job! Plus I get to implement my architecture using Ruby on Rails, doing proper TDD with an architecture that makes sense.......oh yeah and no six sigma!
