A Week to Remember
There are certain events in history when you remember exactly where you were when it happened. The death of princess Dianna is certainly one of those. I was on holliday in London. I first heard about her car accident on the radio at my friend Pam's house at 4:00AM over tea after a night on the town. Our response at that time was "I hope that she is ok." The next morning I awoke to Pam walking into the room saying "Did you hear the news? Princess Dianna is dead." It took me fifteen minutes to realize that I wasn't dreaming and that this was real.
That evening Pam, Emma and myself went to Kensington Palace to lay flowers.
Here are some of the images that we saw.
Hoards of people decending upon the palace.
A Shrine to the queen of hearts.
A last letter goodby.
The rest of the week was relatively unaffected by the Princess's death. We did however decide to see the funeral procession go past Hyde Park. We camped out the night before to get a good spot.
The crowd starting to form in the morning.
